Seabrook, New Hampshire

Seabrook, New Hampshire is a seaside town of about 8500 people located in the southeastern most corner of the state.  With plenty of retail outlets, miles of beachfront property and quick and easy access to points both north and south, Seabrook is a popular destination for vacationers as well as folks looking for a comfortable place to call home.

The area that was to become Seabrook was initially settled in the 1630’s when it was still part of Hampton, NH.  In 1726 Hampton Falls, which included the Seabrook territory, separated from Hampton.  Forty years later Seabrook was granted township and incorporated in 1768.  The town was named for the Seabrook River and maintained border disputes with Hampton for almost 200 years until it was finally settled in court in 1953.

Seabrook has a flavor all its own.  From the Seabrook Greyhound Track to the multiple fireworks retailers, there’s something for everyone in this tightly-knit community.  Retail giant Wal-Mart has made a home in Seabrook, bringing along with it a Sam’s Club Warehouse.  Home Depot and Staples have also set up shop on busy Route 1 alongside several fast food outlets, banks, car dealerships and many, many other retail outlets.  On the coastline itself runs Route 1A, the state’s main coastal route.  Here in Seabrook you will find miles of sandy beaches lined with side streets having such names as Nashua Street, Manchester Street and Concord Street, all with cottages up and down them.  All these small houses are within a hundred yards of the beach itself giving seasonal sun worshippers a little slice of heaven right here in the Granite State.

But Seabrook has more than just sandy beaches and retail outlets.  The town constructed a recreational center with a full weight room, basketball courts and tennis courts.  There are several organized youth sports available including baseball, basketball and football.  The Seabrook Greyhound Track offers daily racing as well as a fine dining experience.  Route 95 runs directly through Seabrook, giving residents easy north/south access.  From Seabrook, Boston is only about 45 minutes to the south and Portland, Maine lies about an hour north.  From Route 95, east/west travel through New Hampshire is five minutes north on Route 101, meaning the Queen City of Manchester is a mere forty-five minute drive.  Seabrook is a town that’s close to everything.

Seabrook, NH is a part of School Administrative Unit #21 along with Hampton, South Hampton, Hampton Falls and North Hampton.  Seabrook educates its resident school-age children in kindergarten through fourth grade at the Seabrook Elementary School and students in fifth through eighth grade at the Seabrook Middle School.  High School-age students are tuitioned at nearby Winnacunnet High School in Hampton.

There’s nothing like walking out your front door and smelling the salt from the ocean.  Seabrook has a lot to offer growing families as well as those looking for a quiet, convenient place to retire.  If you’d like more information about the town of Seabrook or any of the other wonderful towns in New Hampshire, your first step should be to call Jim Miller Bean Group at (603) 801-3987.  We know NH, from stem to stern and we’d love to talk to you about this beautiful state and the benefits of living here.  Call us today.
