Piermont, New Hampshire

Piermont, New Hampshire, is a small bedroom community nestled on the border between Vermont and New Hampshire.  With only roughly 700 people in the town, this is a great place to live for anybody looking for tranquility and separation from the stresses of an urban environment.  To the east you have the beautiful New Hampshire White Mountain National Forest, and to the west you have the serene Connecticut River, forming the border between the Green Mountain state and our own Granite State.

Piermont was named after the town of Piedmont, in the Italian Alps mountain range.  Most of the people listed in the charter were noblemen or held a military title.  The charter to have this settlement incorporated as a town was issued in 1764, but the first actual settlements weren't created until roughly 1768.  Lake Tarleton, in Piermont, was once on the property of William Tarleton, who was a delegate for the Constitutional Convention in 1791, and he also held the title of member of the presidential Electoral College in the year 1804.

Piermont, New Hampshire, is a beautiful and calm community, perfect for a family or a couple to settle down and begin a new life in a new home.  The White Mountains to the east make this a great location for anybody who enjoys wildlife observation, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, or rock climbing.  The Connecticut River to the west is also great for fishing, boating, and swimming.  Piermont suits to just about every lifestyle.  Team sports such as baseball, football, soccer, basketball, and hockey make Piermont a great place to raise children as well, and gives parents a good way to stay involved with their children’s extracurricular activities.

Piermont is part of the New Hampshire School Administrative Unit #23.  SAU #23 educates the children from the towns of Piermont, Bath, Woodsville, Haverhill, Warren, and Benton.  The children of Piermont grades K through 8 are taught at the Piermont Village School, then for grades 9 through 12 they are tuitioned at the Woodsville High School.  Woodsville High School has a wide variety of sports, which include soccer, golf, skiing, basketball, cheerleading, baseball, softball, and also track and field.
