Goffstown was settled in the 1700’s and because of the white pine trees that grew in abundance it became the major supplier of pine trees to build masts on the naval ship of the British Fleet. The area where the pine trees grew was named ‘Pine Plains’ and they still grow today. Originally part of Massachusetts, it was incorporated as a town in NH in 1761 and was named after Colonel John Goffe, an officer and probate judge.
According to the 2010 Census, there are 17,651 residents in Goffstown. There are many original homes that add character and charm to this community.
