Logging, farming and hunting were essential to the operation of these mills and many “Pembrokians” earned their livings doing just that. Eventually, the mills closed down and the farms petered out. Today Pembroke is an industrious town with several large businesses as well as smaller shops and services. Location is the word of the day in Pembroke.
