New Hampshire is a state filled with beauty, from the sandy beaches and rocky shores of its Atlantic coastline, to the majestic peaks of the White Mountains. With the natural beauty and stunning views offered to visitors and residents alike, the New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation monitors and maintains over 50 State Park throughout the state, ranging in size from the 1.3-acre Jenness Beach State Park on the seacoast in Rye, to the 13,500 acre Pisgah State park which sprawls across the towns of Chesterfield, Hinsdale and Winchester in the southwest corner of NH. A full twelve of the parks are located in the White Mountain National Forest, the beauty of which is difficult to surpass in all of New England.
New Hampshire State Parks vary in the activities permitted, but most include picnic areas and rest rooms. Other activities can include hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, mountain biking, camping and more.
